Lines Form Again Before Opening of the Final day at NACA’s Achieve the Dream Homeownership Event

Thousands Taking Advantage of NACA's One-Of-A-Kind Mortgage Program For Low And Moderate Income Buyers

(Los Angeles, CA) Eager future homeowners began to line up as early as 6:00 am once again to be the first in the door at the final day of NACA’s Achieve the Dream affordable homeownership event at the Westin Bonaventure hotel.

Multiple lines formed to help manage the large number of people who showed up early this morning to attend the final day of NACA’s Achieve the Dream event at the Westin Bonaventure hotel.

NACA, the nation’s largest HUD certified non-profit homeownership and community advocacy organization, has brought its Best in America mortgage program to the event and will see several thousand people over the four-day run, which concludes on Sunday. The program helps primarily low to moderate income buyers obtain a genuinely affordable mortgage with no down payment, no closing costs, no PMI, a below market fixed rate, and credit scores are not used. More than 2,000 have already attended the event since it opened on Thursday afternoon.

During a kickoff celebration at the even on Thursday, more than a dozen homeowners shared their stories of becoming homeowners through the NACA program.  Ivan Martinez, who closed on his home seven months ago, said, “Everything they say about NACA is true.  I went in paying child support, so I never thought I was going to qualify. Honestly, I think everybody that pays rent can qualify and own a home.”

Burnese Calhoun closed on her home in August of 2016 and is extremely proud of the duplex she bought through NACA.  “I bring people to see it all the time. The rental unit is four bedrooms and three baths, and the residence unit is five bedroom and three baths. It’s on a beautiful residential street, right in the heart of everything. I’ve been able to assist my family, and now I’ve got my sister in the process, so she’s going to buy her own.”

She continued, “NACA trains you on money management skills, the things you need to do to be prepared to be a homeowner. The things I learned going through the process with NACA, I’m still doing those things today.”

Bank of America has committed $10 Billion to the NACA program. NACA’s Achieve the Dream event continues through Sunday, November 3rd at the Westin Bonaventure hotel at 404. S. Figueroa St. in Los Angeles. Doors are open 8:00 am to 8:00 pm each day, and NACA services are free of charge.  Information and registration can be found at www.naca.com.
