Wells Fargo is a Criminal Enterprise that Needs Drastic Reforms
(Dallas TX) – On Wednesday morning, April 23rd, hundreds of protesters will converge at Wells Fargo & Company’s Annual Stockholder Meeting in Dallas, TX to demand change and to hold the bank’s management and directors for Wells’ multiple predatory and abusive actions.
The largest protest action ever taken at an annual shareholder meeting will take place at the Wells Fargo Annual Meeting at Hyatt Grand DFW, 2337 N International Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75261. Approximately 300 protesters are expected to come by the busload from across the country.
NACA is bringing hundreds of demonstrators to confront the Wells Fargo Board of Directors. “Wells Fargo has become a criminal enterprise and it is time for customers and investors both to divest themselves from Wells Fargo”, said Bruce Marks, CEO of NACA. “From fake accounts, to unnecessary force placed auto insurance, improper fees to mortgage borrowers, unauthorized mortgage modifications, overcharging military families with multiple products, misguiding investment clients into higher risk investments, wage and hour violations, whistleblower retaliation and so much more, the list of illegal and fraudulent activities reads like the actions of old-time gangsters.”
Penalties have totaled nearly $15 Billion. Fourteen Consent Orders have been enforced, but none of them have been fully satisfied. The members of the Wells Fargo board must be held accountable for the actions of the bank, and hundreds of protesters will converge on the Hyatt Grand on Tuesday to demand that the Wells Fargo culture of high pressure, abuse and predatory policies on both customers and employees come to an end once and for all.
Marks continued, “The stagecoach is already burning, and it’s time for everyone to get off while they still can. Divesting from Wells Fargo will send the message to the banks’ executives and board members in what is perhaps the only way that they will truly understand. Wells Fargo must make a fundamental change in its culture and we are here to see that message is delivered in a way that is undeniably clear.”
